Leader and Architect, Next-Gen Video Browsing - Arrowsight – Westchester County, NY (one hour north of Manhattan)

Arrowsight improves business operations using video-based measurements and data mining.  Using network video recorders at our customers’ premises, we help our customers spot critical issues affecting safety, compliance, and productivity. 

Each week, our staff reviews 60,000 video clips, and this number is growing fast.  Our success hinges on our unique tools for browsing and synopsizing video and fetching it from our clients’ video recorders.  You will continue our record of innovating in this area, enabling our staff and partners to review unprecedented amounts of video with high accuracy.

Expect to get your hands dirty.  You will be responsible for selecting architectures and programming frameworks (on the Windows platform), and auditing code written by your direct reports/contractors.   Initially you’ll probably write some code.  You will also write and review patent applications.  You will report to the CTO and be visible to the executive team and our partners.

“MUST HAVE” REQUIREMENTS

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science

Either:

a. Programming experience with Silverlight or Flash, OR

b. Programming experience with COM or other component-based software methodologies (e.g., CORBA or JavaBeans)

Programming experience writing video player software or visualization software

Programming experience writing multithreaded software.

Experience reviewing patent applications.

Experience with image processing

Recent experience in a leadership role.

PLUSES

Experience with web service frameworks (e.g. Windows Communications Framework)

Past work on video indexing

Experience with Web Services / XML

Experience with H.264, QuickTime, or DirectShow.

LOCATION

Arrowsight’s software development team is located in central Westchester County, one hour north of Manhattan.   Our location allows easy access to New York City as well as many natural recreation opportunities amidst forests, lakes, and the Hudson River.  Westchester County and nearby Fairfield County in Connecticut are home to many corporate headquarters and other technology concentrations such as pharmaceuticals and biotech.   Excellent public schools are also available.

Arrowsight has a second office in Huntsville, Alabama, which benefits from its proximity to other high-tech companies in the aerospace industry. Exceptional individuals may have the option of working from there.
